Blood is an organ. Skin/flesh is the largest organ on the body. Jesus gave us his blood. And we eat Jesus flesh and blood. The blood is the life!

Baptism is "salvific" for salvation. Being baptized into the Spirit by the Spirit of God. We are saved and brought into the Body of Christ through the baptism (Spirit act). If water baptism has anything to do with salvation. Infant baptism is a carry over from the Roman church the Lutherans have never let go of. Every time in Scripture a person is baptized its an adult, a person who is cognitive result of Belief and repentance. A fine line here. I wonder if he means the same way Church of Christ, Baptismal regeneration? that is a heresy.

There are many reasons to donate one’s body to science. Every physician, and many allied health professionals, have the opportunity to dissect a human cadaver as part of their training. These bodies are treated with the utmost respect and are often donated by former physicians. Organ donation fits in with vocation of neighbor in the laying my life down for others. I was baptized Lutheran and spent a good portion of my childhood in Lutheran churches and moved towards more Evangelical and Calvary Chapel later in life but truly I wish one could have all of it in one church. Why can you not be a solid liturgical church with Eucharist, AND preach the Word of God and have amazing DEEP worship music that fully encompasses the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit. (I have seen some Anglican churches in Wheaton IL come close). The five min sermons explain why most of you are so liberal (yeah I said it). Your people are not being taught the Word. Five to 15 min sermons are not cultivating the soil and it is falling on rocky soil and hard hearts. However Evangelicals do almost the opposite and spend so much time taking up space in the church service with talking and performing at their congregation it is not giving time for reflection and the quarterly communion time is not enough focus on the work of the Cross.

GRAMMATICAL TRANSLATION HEBREWS 6:4-6 For it is impossible, For THOSE who were once: - Enlightened, and - Have tasted of the heavenly gift, and - Were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and - Have tasted the good word of God, and - The powers of the world to come, And [then] - Have fallen away / become trespassers, To be renewing THEM again unto repentance: - WHILE they are crucifying to themselves the Son of God afresh, And - Are putting him to open shame. (Hebrews 6:4-6) Calvin taught that this passage deals with the sin against the Spirit and he was wrong. Unfortunately the great Lutheran theologians Walther and Pieper followed Calvin on this point. They struggled with the text and attempted to expound it consistent The Rule of Faith (Romans 12:6). But Dr Mueller subtly questioned their conclusions in his Dogmatics, saying that if we are going to infer the sin against the Holy Spirit we must do so for reasons that are NOT EXEGETICAL. In other words the notion that the sin against the spirit is being dealt with is not in the text. It is in reality a private interpretation (2 Peter 3:16) to infer the sin against the Holy Spirit from Hebrews 6:4-6. But 1 Peter 4:11 holds us all to the unchanging principle of Sola Scriptura. We have no right to ignore the plain grammar and simple assertions of the inspired author here. He that hath my Word let him speak my Word Faithfully (Jeremiah 23:28) However, a strictly grammatical handling of the text of Hebrews 6:4-6 changes everything. The first 5 participles are aorist substantives and they are statements of objective fact. As such they CHARACTERISE real Believers who really fell away / became trespassers (Note: "Became Trespassers" see the use of the cognate verb: παραπιπτω in Ezekiel 18:24 - LXX) But the remaining two participles are Adverbial and TEMPORAL participles. And the principal emphasis of a temporal participle is to demonstrate the time relevant to the participle. It is impossible to be renewing unto repentance every person who goes on still in their deliberate sinning. And this agrees with the words of the prophet: Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:1-2) Which leads the Lord to say to us: O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously ... For in thee the fatherless findeth mercy. I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him. (Hosea 14:1-4)

Why would you hold to a continuationist position regarding male headship, while holding to a cessationist position regarding prophetesses?

Could it be that the 1st death is that which I was born into, "dead in trespasses and sins"? That means that the 1st resurrection is when I come to spiritual life in baptism and the hearing of the gospel. The 2nd death is eternal death, body and soul in hell. The second resurrection is the bodily resurrection of the saints, on the Last Day, when Jesus returns!

What happens if your lutheran pastor has committed adultery and divorced his wife. Married the gal, he had an affair with and still preaches at the pulpit. Should I leave. Elders have said he repented so it is okay but the Synod removed his from the pastoral roster, but he is still preaching.

Now looking into joining an LCMS church and moving to Saint Louis to hopefully attend Concordia Seminary one day.

I think that confirmation student was wondering about that phrase, "all my sins with which I have EVER offended Thee." Is there a point where I ought to trust in God's forgiveness and let the guilt of those old sins go... after I've confessed them for 50 years?

Unfortunately Lutherans do not have a valid priesthood by Apostolic Succession, even though they have a sense of the real presence. Perhaps God still may give them some unmerited grace anyway during the Lord's supper.

Sorry,but I think the practice of to pouring or sprinkling water, especially over babies, and before they are at the age of reason and choosing to repent of their sins & to follow Jesus, is unscriptural & "adding to" the scriptures. While my parents had me "christened" as a baby in the Lutheran Church, when I began reading the scripture for myself & understood what Jesus was explaining what we must do to be saved, I chose to be immersed, but in a different denomination, to follow scripture & his command.

ELCA has both Ministers of the Word and Sacrament (traditional concept of a pastor who offers Holy Communion) and Ministers of the Word (who used to be called Deacons and who do everything except offer Holy Communion). Martin Luther believed in the priesthood of all believers so our hymnal includes both a Service of Holy Communion and a Service of the Word (no Holy Communion). We use the latter when our Rostered Minister of the Word and Sacrament is unavailable and members of the congregation offer the service. It’s probably a Lutheran “thing.”

So i suppose you know that luther was a Catholic priest who nailed to the CATHOLIC church door his complaints against the errors occurring in the church at that time. Research first before making simplistic announcements. It is the roman church. It is the Catholic church.
